Taxi & Private Hire Accident Repairs in Cardiff
Every day off the road is a day's earnings gone. We prioritise plated vehicles and keep you working.
If you drive a hackney, a private hire car or work through one of the apps, an accident hits you twice — once for the damage and again for every shift you can't cover. A standard repair booking that treats your car like a family runaround doesn't work when the vehicle is your income. We handle taxi and PCO work with that in mind: quick assessment, prioritised booking, and a plated replacement arranged so you're back earning while the repair happens.
Minimising downtime
The biggest cause of a long repair isn't the bodywork, it's waiting — waiting for an assessment, waiting for authority, waiting for parts. We front-load all three. Send photos through the estimator or on WhatsApp and you'll get an indicative scope back quickly. Parts are ordered as soon as the job is confirmed rather than after the car is stripped. Where a panel can be repaired properly instead of replaced, that's usually days saved.
Trade vehicles get booked in around the workshop schedule so the car isn't sitting waiting for a bay. Most single-panel work on a plated vehicle goes through in two to three working days.
Loss of earnings and the claim
Where the accident wasn't your fault, loss of earnings can form part of the claim against the at-fault driver's insurer. That's handled by National Accident Support Line, an FCA-regulated claims management company, not by us — we're the body shop, and we're not going to pretend otherwise or make promises about what a claim will produce.
What we will say is that the evidence matters. Keep your booking records, app statements and takings for the weeks either side of the accident, and hand them over early. NASL will tell you exactly what they need.
Plated and private-hire-suitable replacements
There's no point being given a two-door coupé when you need a licensed vehicle to work. Replacement vehicles for trade drivers are arranged on a like-for-like basis, including private-hire-suitable and plated options where the licensing authority permits, so you can keep taking jobs. Availability depends on your licensing council's requirements, and NASL will confirm what can be sourced before anything is agreed.
- Priority booking for plated and trade vehicles
- Same-standard repair — no shortcuts because it's a work car
- Private-hire-suitable replacement vehicles arranged where available
- Loss of earnings handled as part of the non-fault claim by NASL
- Cardiff, Penarth, Barry, Newport and Bridgend drivers welcome
Keeping the vehicle presentable
Passengers judge a taxi in the first three seconds. Kerbed alloys, a scuffed bumper corner and mismatched paint all cost you ratings even when the car drives perfectly. We can pick up the cosmetic tidying at the same time as the accident repair while the car is already off the road, which is far cheaper than a separate visit later.
