    Non-Fault Accident Repair in Cardiff

If someone else caused the damage, you shouldn't be out of pocket. We handle the repair, and our partner handles the claim.

Being hit by another driver is stressful enough without the phone calls, forms and arguments about where your car gets fixed. CJVS is an independent body repair centre in Cardiff, and we've been putting accident-damaged vehicles back to a factory standard for years. When a non-fault accident comes in, we do what we're good at — the bodywork — and the claim side is handled by our partner, National Accident Support Line, an FCA-regulated claims management company. That means one phone call sorts your repair, your replacement vehicle and your claim, and in most non-fault cases there's no excess for you to pay.

What to do straight after a non-fault accident

At the roadside, the priority is safety and information. Once everyone is out of harm's way, get the other driver's name, address, registration and insurer if you can. Photograph both vehicles, the position they came to rest in, and the wider scene including road markings and any damage to street furniture. If there are witnesses, take a number. If anyone is injured or the other driver leaves the scene, report it to the police.

Then call us. You don't have to ring your insurer first and you don't have to accept the first garage you're offered. A quick look at your photos on WhatsApp is usually enough for us to tell you whether it's a straightforward panel repair or a bigger job, and what happens next.

    Why non-fault claims work differently

When the accident wasn't your fault, the costs are ultimately recovered from the other driver's insurer rather than from you. In practice that usually means no excess to find, and your no-claims bonus stays where it should be. The claim is managed end to end by NASL, so you're not chasing anyone. You get a repair booked at a garage you actually chose, and a replacement vehicle while yours is with us.

We look after drivers across Cardiff, Penarth, Barry, Bridgend, Newport and the wider South Wales area. The workshop is on Dyfrig Road Industrial Estate in Cardiff CF5 5AD, and we can usually arrange collection if the car isn't safe to drive.

    What we handle in-house

    • Structural and cosmetic collision repair
    • Panel replacement, plastic welding and dent work
    • Full and panel resprays with spectrophotometer colour matching
    • Low-bake oven curing for a durable factory finish
    • Alloy wheel refurbishment after kerb and impact damage
    • Insurance work welcome — we can deal directly with your insurer

    Insurance work is welcome

Plenty of the work we do is paid for by an insurer, and we're happy to deal with them directly. You are entitled to have your car repaired where you choose, and an insurer's approved network is a suggestion rather than an obligation. If you'd rather understand that properly before you make a call, we've written a plain-English page about choosing your own repairer.

    Frequently asked questions

Usually not. Where liability sits with the other driver, the costs are recovered from their insurer, so there is typically no excess for you to find. NASL will confirm the position for your specific claim before anything goes ahead.

Handled as a non-fault claim with the costs recovered from the at-fault insurer, your no-claims discount should be protected. It's worth checking the exact wording of your policy, as terms differ between insurers.

Yes. UK motorists are free to choose where their vehicle is repaired. Your insurer can recommend an approved repairer, but you are not obliged to use one.

A single panel repair is typically two to three working days. Larger collision work depends on parts availability and the extent of the damage — we'll give you a realistic timescale after the inspection rather than an optimistic one.

    Important information

Chris Jenkins Vehicle Specialist (CJVS) is a vehicle body repair business. We carry out the repair work on your vehicle. We are not a claims management company, we are not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and nothing on this page is legal advice.

The claims, personal injury, replacement vehicle, recovery and storage elements described here are provided by National Accident Support Line (NASL), a claims management company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, FCA registration number 829991. NASL can be contacted on 0333 212 2730. Personal injury claims are handled through their panel of solicitors on a no win no fee basis.

CJVS works with NASL and may receive a commission for replacement vehicle (credit hire) referrals. This does not add anything to what you pay.

We cannot promise that a claim will succeed, and we do not give figures for compensation. Outcomes, entitlement to a replacement vehicle and whether an excess applies depend on liability and on your own policy terms. NASL will explain the position for your circumstances before anything is agreed.
